Terms of Use
Terms governing use of autovig.be: Belgian publisher identity, editorial role, affiliate transparency, language priority, liability under Belgian law, dispute resolution.
These Terms govern your access to and use of the website autovig.be (the "Site"). By visiting the Site you accept these Terms. If you do not accept them, please stop using the Site.
These Terms are not a sales contract. The Site is an editorial information service tailored to Belgian residents who plan trips to vignette- or toll-bearing countries elsewhere in Europe. Where the Site links to a third-party operator or reseller for the purchase of a vignette or toll product, the contract for that purchase is concluded directly with the third party under its own terms.
1. Publisher identity
The Site is published and operated by:
These details are provided to satisfy article 5 of Directive 2000/31/EC (e-commerce) and articles XII.6 and XII.7 of the Belgian Code de droit économique. References to "Autovig", "we", "us" or "our" in these Terms refer to Autovig acting under the Autovig brand on the Belgian local property autovig.be.
2. What the Site is — and is not
autovig.be is the Belgian local instance of the Autovig editorial service. It focuses on the practical questions Belgian travellers ask before driving to Austria, Switzerland, Slovenia, Czechia, Slovakia, Hungary, Romania, Bulgaria and other vignette- or toll-bearing destinations: which vignette to buy, how long it is valid, which operator is official, what a route through several countries costs in total.
Autovig is not a vignette reseller. We do not process payments, we do not store user accounts, and we do not issue vignettes. Where our content describes how to buy a vignette, the transaction takes place on the website of the national operator (such as ASFINAG, DARS, NÚSZ, BGTOLL or CNAIR) or of an authorised reseller, under its own terms and pricing. Autovig is not a party to that contract.
3. Affiliate and commercial-relationship transparency
Some outbound links on the Site may be affiliate links: if you complete a purchase on a partner's website, Autovig may receive a commission. The commission is paid by the partner, never by you, and does not change the price you pay.
We identify affiliate relationships in line with article VI.99 of the Code de droit économique (unfair commercial practices) and article 26 of Regulation (EU) 2022/2065 (Digital Services Act). Editorial coverage and ranking on the Site are not for sale; commercial relationships do not determine which operators or routes we cover or how we describe them.
4. Editorial accuracy
We make a reasonable effort to verify prices, validity rules and operator details against official operator sources on a regular review cycle, and we display Verified at and Updated at markers on country pages. National operators may change their rules and prices without notice. Always confirm the current rule and price on the operator's own website before relying on the Site for a trip-critical decision.
The Site provides general information. It is not legal advice, not transport advice, not insurance advice, and not a representation that any specific vignette product is suitable for your vehicle or your route. You remain responsible for the legality of your journey and for any fines, tolls or fees incurred.
5. Intellectual property
The editorial text, page structures, illustrations and brand identity of Autovig are the property of Autovig and are protected by Belgian copyright law (Code de droit économique Livre XI) and by Directive 2001/29/EC. Country names, operator names, logos and trademarks remain the property of their respective owners and are referenced for identification only, under the nominative-use exception.
You may quote short excerpts (no more than two paragraphs) of editorial text for non-commercial purposes, provided you display a visible link back to the source page. Substantial reproduction, automated scraping for republication, and any use that suggests endorsement by Autovig require prior written permission from Autovig.
6. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
Vulnerability reports received in good faith under our Responsible Disclosure policy are not covered by this clause and are welcomed.
7. Illegal content and notice-and-action
The Site does not, at present, host user-generated content. If user-generated content is introduced in the future, a notice-and-action mechanism aligned with article 16 of Regulation (EU) 2022/2065 (Digital Services Act) will be made available, with a single point of contact and an acknowledgement-and-decision flow.
Until then, if you believe that any editorial content on the Site is illegal under EU or Belgian law, please report it to contact@autovig.eu. Indicate the URL, the reason you consider the content illegal, and your contact details.
8. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, the Site is provided "as is" and "as available". Autovig disclaims implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement, except where Belgian law or the consumer-protection law of your habitual residence renders that disclaimer ineffective.
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits Autovig's liability for:
Subject to the above, Autovig is not liable for indirect, consequential, special or incidental losses arising from your use of the Site — including lost trips, missed connections, lost profits, or fines or fees imposed by a public authority or operator. Where Autovig's liability is engaged and not excluded by mandatory law, its total liability under or in connection with these Terms is limited to the amount you have paid to Autovig in the twelve months preceding the relevant event, which at the prelaunch stage is zero.
9. Privacy, cookies and security
Your personal data is processed under our Privacy Policy. Cookies and similar technologies are described in our Cookie Policy and can be managed at any time through Cookie Preferences. Security vulnerabilities can be reported under our Responsible Disclosure policy. The accessibility of the Site is covered in our Accessibility Statement.
10. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms when the Site evolves. The Updated at date in the page header reflects the latest revision. Material changes will be highlighted at the top of the page for a reasonable period. Continued use of the Site after the effective date of a change constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms; if you do not accept the change, please stop using the Site.
11. Governing law and competent court
These Terms are governed by Belgian law. The application of mandatory consumer-protection rules of the law of the country of your habitual residence is preserved in accordance with article 6 of Regulation (EC) No 593/2008 (Rome I).
For disputes with a consumer domiciled in the European Union, the consumer may bring proceedings against Autovig either before the courts of Belgium (place of the controller's domicile) or before the courts of the consumer's own domicile, in line with articles 17 to 19 of Regulation (EU) No 1215/2012 (Brussels Ia). Autovig may bring proceedings against a consumer only before the courts of that consumer's domicile.
For disputes with a non-consumer, the courts of the judicial district of the registered office of Autovig (Nederlandstalige rechtbank van eerste aanleg Brussel / Tribunal de première instance francophone de Bruxelles, depending on the procedural language) have exclusive jurisdiction, without prejudice to overriding mandatory rules.
12. Alternative dispute resolution
If you have a complaint and we have not been able to resolve it directly, you may use one of the following routes free of charge:
Use of an alternative dispute resolution route does not affect your right to take the matter to court.
13. Language versions, severability and entire agreement
autovig.be is published in French, Dutch and English. The French and Dutch versions are the legally meaningful versions for Belgian consumers; the English version is provided for international convenience.
If there is an irreconcilable divergence between language versions, the Dutch version prevails between professionals. A Belgian consumer may rely on the French or Dutch version actually presented to them on the Site at the time of use, in accordance with the language decrees of the Flemish, French and German-speaking Communities and with Regulation (EC) No 593/2008 (Rome I). Consumers established in another Member State may rely on the language version of the Site that was used to address them.
If any provision of these Terms is held invalid or unenforceable by a competent court, the remaining provisions remain in full force, and the invalid provision will be replaced by an enforceable provision that achieves, as closely as possible, the original economic effect.
These Terms, together with the documents they reference (Privacy Policy, Cookie Policy, Cookie Preferences, Accessibility Statement, Responsible Disclosure policy), form the entire agreement between you and Autovig in respect of your use of the Site.
